Second Coming Overview and Introduction

It is a matter of Historical fact that Israel was re-established on 14 May 1948 and that it is prophesied that Jesus will return during that generation of people.

"There is little doubt among Bible scholars that the establishment of the State of Israel, on May 14, 1948, is the fulfillment of the prophecy of the fig tree. Throughout the Bible, Israel is referred to as the fig tree. Hosea 9:10 says, “When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your fathers, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree.”
After describing His return, in Matthew 24:32-34, Jesus says this: “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all theses things have happened.” Most agree that this says that the generation of people who witness the fig tree bearing leaves (Israel becoming a nation) will not pass away until the Son of Man returns." If that is true, then what are the way marks?

The tip-off for me was World War II. I realized that it might have fulfilled the 4th Seal prophecy and upon studying the historical record, this was confirmed. World War II was the first World Event to totally fulfill the prophecy in Revelation 6:7-8.

If this is the case, the first 3 seals had to have been fulfilled also.

Walk with me through an overview of the last 150 years. It is a quick walk.

Looking at the British Empire, it was the first World Empire, circumnavigating the world with the intention of World Domination. This was closely followed by the writing of the Communist Manifesto in 1847 which lead to Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917. World War I started in 1914 but, in particular, the Communist Manifesto penned in 1847 was a document intended to lead to World Conquest.

The countries of the Allies tried to prevent further World War by instituting the Covenant of the League of Nations in 1919. This effort to promote World Peace failed. Conflict and the horrors of the Stalinist purges prevailed. Soon the World suffered the Great Depression. Starvation and hardship followed for 10 years, and culminated in World War II.

As you study the Seals, bear in mind that if one Seal is proven to be open, then it follows that the preceding Seals must be open also. It also follows that once a Seal is open, it is not closed again, or so the Scripture indicates. Look around you, the evidence surrounds us. Today, there are 4 open Seals. As you look through these pages you may be astounded if it has not occurred to you before.

We are indeed living in the generation that will see the Return of our Lord.
